Director of Community Services Scott Bruner announced at the town council meeting on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, plans to build a frisbee golf course on the open space in the Chino Valley Community Center Park east of Field 5. The dog park next door will also be upgraded to a Ramada with sunshade.

"It is used as a sidewalk, it can still be and will be, but we will make more use of space," Scott Bruner said. "We will have a 9-plate course there."

The picture above is the planning layout of the Chino Valley Frisbee Golf Course.

According to the Professional Frisbee Golf Association, “Frisbee golf is played very much like golf. However, players use a Frisbee or Frisbee® instead of a ball and club. Frisbee golf has the same fun and frustration as golf, whether it’s a long putt. It's still hitting a tree halfway through the fairway. But there are some differences: Frisbee golf is usually played for free in the park, although paid courses are on the rise; you may not need to rent a trolley, but the layout of the converted golf course is also available Increase; and your "kick-off time" usually appears in championship games, not casual games."

The golf disc is thrown from the teeing ground to the target, that is, the "hole". A hole can be one of many disc golf goals; the most common is an elevated metal basket. As the player advances along the fairway, he or she must make each successive toss from where the last toss landed. The trees, shrubs and terrain changes in and around the fairway provide challenging obstacles for golfers. Finally, the "putter" falls into the basket and the hole is completed.

The new Frisbee golf course will suit the many leisure options in Chino Valley.
